【The MCUT Around the World Series Project】The Second round of applications for the 2024-2025 overseas exchange program has begun.

1. Expected Exchange Period:

The exchange is planned for the first and second semesters of the academic year 113, spanning one academic year. The actual exchange duration will be based on the start and end dates of the semester at the host institution.

Note: Students should select one sister school that best suits their individual circumstances. If there are changes in cooperation with the sister school, the Division of Global Cooperation and Exchange will negotiate with students to apply for an appropriate alternative school.

 

2. School List and Eligibility Criteria:

 

-Information on the list is sourced from sister school websites. It is recommended to check directly with the website of the sister school for the latest information. The latest information is primarily based on announcements from the sister school's website.

-Departments recommended for application are for reference only. Students must check with the sister school's provided courses to see if they are relevant to their own major.

-For Southeast Asian sister school exchanges, please contact Ms. Monica from the Division of Global Cooperation.

3. Selection Criteria:

(Current) Second-year students in the daytime department, planning to advance to the third year in the 113th academic year, and those who intend to exchange for credit exemptions in work-study internships.

(Current) Master's program student in the daytime graduate program.

Note: Applicants meeting any of the following conditions are not eligible to apply:

-Students recommended by the university for overseas exchange within the same educational stage (including mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau).

-Those who have been accepted into the university's exchange student program and voluntarily withdrawn after acceptance.

 

4. Application Procedure and Deadline:

Applicants must personally submit all required documents to the designated person at the Division of Global Cooperation of the International Affairs Office by 5:00 pm on February 17, 2024 (Saturday).

Note: Incomplete or improperly formatted documents will not be accepted. Students are advised to be mindful of the deadline and not wait until the last moment to submit their documents.

 

5. Required Documents:

(M) MCUT Application for Overseas Dual-Degree Study or Exchange Study of Students (downloadable format available at the bottom of this page).

(M) Official transcripts and ranking certificates for all academic years (Chinese version) (official transcripts must be submitted, screenshots of online grades will not be accepted, obtain from the registration section).

(M) Proof of language proficiency (must match the levels listed in the language proficiency chart below) (official scores must be submitted, screenshots of online results will not be accepted).

(M) Autobiography in English (one page each, self-formatted).

(M) Records of awards and penalties (official proof must be submitted, screenshots of online inquiries will not be accepted, obtain from the Student Affairs Office's Counseling Division).

(O) Other documents that may support the application (such as certificates of outstanding achievements, recommendation letters from teachers, proof of participation in activities, etc.).

 

6. Initial Review and Internal Subsidies Information: (To be eligible for official exchange student status, students must be accepted by the sister school)

• Eligibility:

(1) Language proficiency and academic performance must meet the standards of the overseas training institution (refer to the language proficiency chart for various language test levels).

(2) Average conduct score of 80 or above and no disciplinary record.

(3) GPA of 3.0 or above in previous years at the university.

 

7. Announcement of Initial Review and Internal Subsidies Results:

The results of the initial review and whether students are eligible for internal subsidies are expected to be communicated via email to successful applicants after late March. Accepted students must complete the registration process at the Division of Global Cooperation and Exchange of the International Affairs Office by the specified deadline.

 

Note:

• Before applying, students must thoroughly discuss and communicate with their departmental mentors and parents. If a student decides to withdraw the application after the Division of Global Cooperation and Exchange has received the documents, it may affect future exchange opportunities, so students should be aware of this.

• Approval from the university only grants qualification for university recommendation. Students must still be accepted by the sister school to officially qualify for the exchange program.

• During the exchange period, students must maintain their enrollment at Ming Chi University of Technology, and regardless of whether they are required to pay the sister school's tuition, exchange students are still required to pay Ming Chi tuition and miscellaneous fees.

• Please ensure that all documents are complete; any omissions may result in subsequent issues for which students will be responsible.
