  • Q1:Is the residence permit for overseas students still valid after graduation?
    A1:After graduation, the school will proceed with a "graduation report" for overseas students. If a student does not apply for "residence permit extension" at the immigration agency, the graduation report will be submitted, and the immigration agency will cancel the residence permit according to their operational schedule.

 

  • Q2:After graduation, if an overseas student has not found "employment in Taiwan," can they stay in Taiwan?
    A2:Yes, but it is essential to apply for a "residence permit extension" to the immigration agency within the specified timeframe after graduation. The purpose of the residence permit will be changed from "study" to another category. The extension needs to be done every six months, and a maximum of two extensions is allowed.

 

  • Q3:How long can overseas students can stay in Taiwan after graduation.
    A3:after the overseas students graduate, the maximum time they can stay in Taiwan for finding a job is one year. After one year, if students still haven’t found employment, they need to leave Taiwan.

 

  • Q4:Can students work during the extended period of their residence permit?
    A4:During the arc extension after the graduation period, they can’t have any kind of part-time job.

 

  • Q5: How is health insurance (NHI) handled for overseas students after graduation?
    A5: After graduation, the school will assist overseas students in handling insurance withdrawal procedures. If students wish to continue their insurance coverage, they can go to the National Health Insurance Administration or the district office near their place of residence to enroll themselves. The monthly premium is 826 NT dollars.
