Q1: What is the application procedure and the required documents?
A1: Two weeks before the event date, applicants shall fill in the 
“Application for Participation in International Academic Activities”and submit the documents (conference agenda and data of event acceptance, the content of the paper (English, full text) to be presented, The NSTC approval letter or documents of proof of application for NSTC funding). After the approval of the department chair, the application shall be submitted to the president for the financial approval. Please do not submit the application documents concurrently with reimbursement of funds.
 
Q2: What is the reimbursement procedures and the required documents?
A2: Applicants shall advance all funds. Within one month after returning to Taiwan, applicants shall submit the documents (the approved Application for Funding, the original copy of all receipts, the exchange rate table from the Bank of Taiwan’s website, record for english speech trial, report on participation in international academic activities of students) to claim funding as net with the relevant receipts. No application for reimbursement will be accepted after this period.
 
Q3: What is the application period for National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) funding? How long in advance should the application be submitted?
A3: The applicant must log in to the homepage of the NSTC using their registered account and password, and submit the relevant information online no later than the first day of the month before the conference. After confirming the submission to the applicant's institution (please notify the institution), the institution (Office of Research and Development) will deliver the case to the NSTC online by the first day of the month before the conference (no need to send a letter to the NSTC). Late submissions will not be accepted.
Note: If the first day of the month before the conference falls on a national holiday or Saturday/Sunday, it will be extended to the next working day. For example, if the conference starts on August 1st or August 31st, the application documents should be submitted to the NSTC system before July 1st.
 
Q4: Can I apply for National Science Council National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) funding if I am currently a student in-service master’s program/ undergraduate program?
A4: According to the guidelines of NSTC Regulations for Funding Participation in International Academic Activities of Students. The eligibility criteria specify that only non-in-service students in master's or doctoral programs recognized by the Ministry of Education are eligible to apply. Therefore, the grant eligibility is limited to graduate students pursuing a master's (or doctoral) degree and does not include in-service programs, science and technology programs, credit courses, or undergraduate students.
 
Q5: Can I apply for Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) funding if I am currently a student in-service master’s program/ undergraduate program?
A5: MCUT graduate students, including students taking pre-master’s courses, in-service master’s programs, and doctoral programs can apply for the funding from the Office of International Affairs according to the “Regulations for Funding Participation in International Academic Activities of Students”. Not include undergraduate students (except students taking pre-master’s courses). Students shall first apply for funding to the NSTC by the deadline. Each student shall be funded for one time each year.
